Er. Revati Raman is a hydropower and structural engineering professional with more than 21 years of experience in the planning, design, and execution of major hydroelectric infrastructure projects in India and Nepal. He currently serves as Deputy General Manager (Civil Design) at SJVN Limited, a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. His responsibilities span the structural design and delivery of India's largest and most complex hydroelectric infrastructure — including dams, barrages, intakes, underground structures, tunnels, surge shafts, powerhouses, and tailrace systems.
Academic qualifications include an M.Tech in Structural Engineering from IIT Delhi and an MBA in Operations Management from IGNOU, providing a combination of dvanced technical expertise and strategic management capability. Professional experience spans the complete lifecycle of hydropower development, including pre-DPR investigations, feasibility studies, structural design, seismic analysis, 3D numerical modelling, EPC design review, and Dam Safety Inspections.
Contributions to India's renewable energy expansion have received recognition. Research and Technical papers have been presented at international conferences such as in Prague, Czech Republic, Thessaloniki, Greece and domestic conferences at Mumbai, and New Delhi. Work on High-Performance Concrete for spillway repair, undertaken in collaboration with IIT Delhi, received the 17th CIDC Vishwakarma Award 2026. An Honorary Doctorate has been awarded by DBS, Switzerland.
Actively associated as a Member of the WRD Committees of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), contributing expert inputs toward national codes and guidelines for hydraulic structures. Also leading the formulation of the Indian Standard on the Design and Construction of Rock-Filled Concrete (RFC) Dams as Convener of the expert working group constituted by the WRD-09 Committee of BIS, contributing to the development of national guidelines for sustainable and cost-effective dam engineering.
